How to stop dog walking on and jumping over walls

twelfstripe · 05/10/2015 16:29

The neighbours are understably complaining, and its also dangerous.

The wall is 5ft high brick. Dog is a hangmen.

Any ideas other than installing trellis on length of wall?

Google coyote rollers. Take dog out on lead, don't leave unattended.

Thank you, I have looked at coyote rollers. Is there a UK distributor for them?

I go out with the dog but she jumps and ignores me.

I think a lead is necessary.

Any ideas how to train her to stop?

You can't train her if you aren't there.

you can make coyote rollers with plasic pipes.

I do go out with her every time lil

She isn't very good at recall when a small animal gets her attention.

A friend suggested squirting her with a water pistol when she tries to jump. Any opinions on this?

That could just make her lose trust in you.

This really is an environment management situation. You need to either raise the fence, install coyote rollers or keep her on a lead.

In the meantime, work on the recall. 'Totall Recall' by Pippa Mattinson is very good.
