high quality (grain free?) tuna based dry food ... anyone??

Hi. Our Shih Tzu pup can take or leave most foods (other than treats, which he gets in moderation, for training purposes!) and eats only what he has to. This sometimes doesn't amount to very much, and I've been saying for a while that it'd be nice to see him a bit more enthused about his meals in general.
So I was making up some tuna pasta salad for the teenager's packed lunch, and thought what the heck, I'll mix a few specks of the tinned tuna in with his food (I also put some warm water in his Millie's Wolfheart for the first time, along with the tuna, so it was probably a double whammy of pleasure!).
He absolutely wolfed it down. Didn't matter that I really hadn't put very much tuna in, it seemed to make all the difference anyway. I know it's the tuna that floated his boat, as he then tried to get the cat's (he too gets the occasional piece as a treat)!
It got me thinking that a tuna flavoured dry food might be the way to go for him. Any thoughts or recommendations? I'd like it to be top notch quality, if possible.

I've never seen a tuna one...you get a few salmon ones though.

Fish4dogs? I don't know for sure, as we use Millie's, but seems a reasonable place to start. It's high quality kibble, from what I understand.

I wouldn't think a tuna based food would be suitable for dogs (I remember reading something about to much mercury in tuna when I was pregnant)

The only fish based no grain food of excellent quality is orijen six fish, fantastic quality, but it is not purely tuna, six different types of fish.

Canagen and Nature's Way do fish based, but not sure it is based on tuna.

Try trophy salmon and potato which is grain free

All About Dog Food is a good site and you can research ingredients on there.

Akela fish feast is a purely fish based grain free diet. 80/20.

It has tuna in it, but not one of the main ingredients.

My dogs have done very well on it.

Just because he loved wet canned tuna doesn't mean a tuna dry kibble is anywhere near the same for him!!!

Dogs love wet smelly stuff. That's why he loved your canned tuna.

Barking Heads 'Fusspot' is a quality fish-based food. It certainly smells very fishy!

I give my picky princessy dog a bit of human food mixed in with her meals, like tinned tuna, or bolognaise, some grave/fatty bits of meat, but if veg/potato/rice/skin of fish. Scraps! All dogs used to have them back in the day and way beyond

She gets bored with her kibble (Millie's Wolfheart no less!) otherwise.

My dog loves tuna more than anything and loves the fishy Jame Wellbeloved stuff

Have a look at a company called Green Dog - based in Norfolk , do grain free dry food , and are very ethical . One of my friends dogs is a Lab with a really picky appetite ( I didn't think such things existed ! ) , and has a very low tolerance for grain or low quality food , but this works for him. Wolfs it down and it hasn't set off any of his intolerances so far . They do trout and salmon based foods amongst others .
