I bought a dog tag late last year and already it has faded badly and I need to buy another one.
Can anyone recommend a type or supplier where it will last longer please?
TIA

The deep engraved tags from here are brilliant. My lot have had their current ones for well over 18 months now and they're still perfectly legible.

I use Identitag - similar to Trionic's link. Good tags - only need to replace when ddog manages to lose them!

Check out Tagiffany. They engrave the details and look beautiful. My boy is almost 5 and he has had his tag since we got him aged 12 weeks. Still looks great and fully legible. I expect it will last his whole life judging from the way it looks now

I have both plastic and metal tags from Trionic's link that are five years old and still perfectly legible.

After endless lost/broken tags, we've taken to writing contact details very large and clear on DDog's collar in sharpie pen - just renew whenever it starts to fade or after washing the collar. (Perhaps harder on a small dog Grin )

Indigo tags are brilliant. I haven't lost one yet and my dogs are constantly in and out of undergrowth so before I discovered these were losing tags on a weekly basis

thank you all. I'm spoilt for choice now Smile

I got my dog's tag at Pet Tags, an on line site.

I paid just over £8 for a really good quality tag with engraving that doesn't fade. It also has a reinforced circle where the ring goes through.

I've used them a few times (moved house a few times) and always been pleased with the quality and speed of delivery (via royal mail).

We use indigo collar tags too, don't dangle so no chance of getting caught or lost.

FiveHoursSleep · 19/08/2015 22:19

I have nickel buckled collars from here on mine, and get the details engraved into the buckle. I have had lost collars back because of this.

WeAllHaveWings · 21/08/2015 15:41

Five the collars from Doggy Style look good and was considering getting one, but how do you manage to lose collars (more than once)? Are they not secure enough??

SoupDragon · 21/08/2015 15:50

SoupDoggyDog has an Indigo tag and it's brilliant. I love the way it's flat on the collar and not dangling.

FiveHoursSleep · 21/08/2015 21:48

One of my dogs grabs the other's collar when playing and pulls it over their head! It's very annoying but I am treating the collars with bitter apple on a weekly basis and it seems to have broken the habit!

Indigo Tags are great, much prefer a flat tag to a dangly one.
