We have had our rescue dog for 5 months and he's great and has settled in well, but we are still at the stage where we are finding out stuff about him. He was an Irish street dog, so we have no other history for him.
It seems he is afraid of the dark and won't go outside when the sun goes down despite our other dog going out for a woof and a wee quite happily.
This is fine in summer, but what's going to happen in winter?
We've tried coaxing him out with a treat or on a lead as if for a walk and he just stands in the doorway and looks miserable. Forcing him out isn't an option.
Has anyone else had this problem?
