training treats for raw fed puppy

DDog is 13 weeks now and is raw fed. We've been going to a puppy class and so I bought some grain free dry dog food to use as a training treat. They worked fine until he got a taste of the trainer's treats (which she offered him before checking with me!). I gave in and bought some myself - Nature's menu real meat treats. The problem is that his stools are very loose when he has the treats and he is also more fussy about his normal food.
Can anyone recommend a training treat I can carry in pockets to give him that will fit with a raw diet.

I raw feed. Treats I use are cherry tomatoes, bits of Apple, cooked veg, cooked meat or raw. But mine is an ex stray and believes any and all food is a treat (except mushrooms - hates mushrooms). You could always make your own dog treats. You can buy recipe books now I think.

Cooked chicken, ham, cheese, dehydrated offal of any sort, liver cake, tuna cake etc

Natures menu do many flavours so maybe try a different one

Raw feeder here. I use liver as a treat and roast chicken as the jackpot treat.

All the above.......but for a young, sensitive pup, liver can be a bit too rich an 'explosive' in anything other than tiny quantities. Heart cooked and cut up small works well and is more forgiving

Ziwipeak freeze dried meat treats are good for those occasions when you'd rather not have a pocket full of moist, stinky natural treats. 100% meat, but dry and pocket friendly

Ham was Eric's treat when he was tiny, now he likes chicken, sausage and the occasional frankfurter,piece of cheese but ham is the usual one.

Thanks for these ideas. I've tried him on cheese and cherry tomatoes, and he loved them - although it did take him about 5 minutes to eat the tomato (so probably not ideal for puppy class!).

DDog loves anything remotely edible blueberries, strawberry pits, cucumber pieces, cheese, potato, chick peas.

Be careful with tomatoes - the green leaves are toxic to dogs. Some react to the actual tomato and can cause vomiting and upset stomachs. I would stick to carrots, apples or bananas to be safe.

Agree with cheerfulmary, tomatoes can be toxic for dogs. I use cheese, air dried meat treats broken up (see zooplus.co.uk) ziwipeak dehydrated treats. Just bought some grain free all meat frankfurters, they are partially cooked so a bit bad but to be used as high value treats. Am thinking of investing in a dehydrater as will save lots of money and you can use liver or other meat.
