......if I haven't got any dog shampoo? ( I need a trip to the stuff for animals shop, don't I? But I can't until late on, and I want her to dry in the sun.)

I used baby shampoo on my Ddog last week and it worked great. Plus she smelled lovely Grin .

My dd has some Chanel shower gel she saves for special occasions- I'd love to use that just to see her face when she smells it.......Grin

Any gentle shampoo. Or washing up liquid. Plus conditioner, well worth the extra rinse.

Water. Or rub in tomato ketchup for stinks and rinse it out. A good brush should work. I only wash our dogs with soap when they STINK! I have a big tube of Fox Poo shampoo just in case!

Tomato ketchup? Every day's a school day!

I have to wash her because I'm going to be sharing a small tent with her for the weekend and I really don't like doggy smell. I think i'll go for diluted human shampoo because I've got a lovely flowery one. Thanks all!

Be careful with products for humans - they have a different pH than products for dogs and can dry the dog's skin, causing itchiness.

I'd also just go for water.

I like the Pet Head shampoos for our spaniel - I find that with those she doesn't smell of wet dog if her fur gets wet in the rain, unlike other shampoos we've used.

I would only use a dog shampoo.
