3 year old Labrador, a resuce... weve had him since 18 months old.
Started with D and then began to vomit on Sunday morning, vet called out and gave pain relief and anti sickness jabs, contined to be ill so in the vets on Monday morning where hes been since. They tried to do an xray but the barium meal didnt work as he kept being sick, thought he had an obstruction as hes a bugger for eating things he shouldnt so they opened him up yesterday - no blockages

hes still being sick, on a drip, very weak, bloods seem clear, vet has no idea but says he knows of 2 other dogs presented like this and sent to the centre in Newmarket, neither made it home :(

It will do, it's so hard to lose them, particularly in circumstances where it's premature and unexplained.

He looks a calm and steady boy, bless him.

The other Lab is taking an invasion of Toddler Bottom very philosophically! Smile

Your poor dog , I lost my dear car very quickly from a stroke last year . It's heartbreaking losing a family member so suddenly ????

CarbeDiem · 05/04/2015 19:58

It will feel empty. It's always difficult when we lose one of our pet family but also that little bit more awful because he was so young.
I hope the PM brings some news about what the hell happened and why.
A big yes to remembering that you done everything possible to help him.

Lovely photo!

We lost our 4 year old lurcher about 6 weeks ago. It was kind of unexpected as she had surgery for a broken leg, woke up from that then collapsed and died 15 minutes later.
I took it very badly and our remaining dog was extremely depressed by her absence. I was so upset I worried I was depressed rather than grieving but after 3-4 weeks, I did stop seeing her around the house and bursting into tears.
We have since got another rescue dog and our other dog is a lot happier. The rescue dog has settled in very well and I can tell he's going to be a well loved family pet in his own right, and I feel like we have done the right thing by adopting him but I still miss our girl :(

BurningBridges · 05/04/2015 22:01
