hi all, in a few weeks I will be bringing home a miniature schnauzer puppy. It will be my first puppy. Have read so much of the theory on house training, socialisation and general training, jabs and grooming etc but before he comes home i would really appreciate any practical real life tips from people who have been there and bought the t shirt. Little tidbits that you might not find in the books....

Mini schnauzers are the best! My daughter has one, and we often have him when they are away or busy. Reg is 18 months old, cute, cuddly, spunky, feisty- and loves all his fluffy toys. You will never be bored with a schnauzie around. They just love to be part of family life. Tremendous lapdogs but will trot for miles if that's what you want to do.

Never had one, but they have a wire coat.
Wire coats need handstripping to look their best.
NEVER shave, it will make the cost wooly.

Clean the beard a lot.
It will be a magnet for grime.

I could be wrong on this one, but I THINK the breed is prone to pancreatis.
So no high fat treats!
