Reputable and recommended kennels/home care in North Herts

Hi there

I'm looking for a recommended kennel or home carer to look after my boy when we go on holiday. He has come camping with us for the past two years and is utterly miserable, constantly trying to escape the tent, trotting in circles round the outside, shaking and worrying in the night... he hates it. Much as I detest leaving him somewhere, if there's a place where there are other dogs to play with he'd be much happier. He LOVES other dogs and thoroughly enjoys a great old romp around a field or park with his mates. He would go with my dog walker, who knows him really well, but he HATES cats and she has cats.

Because he's a rescue, I'm really paranoid about him going to an unpleasant kennels - not that he ever had that in the past but... well... he's my baby.

He's two years old and a lurcher: big and hairy!

Is just north of berkhamsted, North enough for you? If so I'll pm you.

To be honest I'm happy to drive for somewhere good. I've heard too many horror stories and my mum's collie dog chewed off half his tail when he was in a boarding kennel. They wouldn't give Badger back to my mum at first and she had to virtually steal him.

So I'm a bit paranoid...
