So how did Christmas go with ddog?

Eric has had me dumbfounded tbh. The little dog who can't leave anything alone has resolutely ignored the Christmas tree, wasn't interested in any of the presents and has been incredibly well behaved by his standards anyway.
He had lots of new toys that have entertained him particularly a hedgehog that oinks and he's had his fair share of leftover capon and ham but it was easy in comparison to what I was expecting based on current form.
So have your ddogs been good or bad?

Dogs have been great except for residing next to the oven all the time the turkey was being cooked lol. They didn't even murmur with the fireworks but being spaniels I believe this is in their breed. Nothing but praise A+on their report cards :-).

It was ddog's second Christmas with us so he's now a seasoned pro . He completely ignored the tree and only chewed one decoration (which had fallen off and to be fair could easily have been a dog toy ...).

He opened one present before he was supposed to, but at least it was one of his - and he joined in when everyone started singing carols (was very funny )

Jack dog stole three chocolates off one of the trees. She was perfectly ok health wise. She's the smallest of all three but the sneakiest and food is her weakness. The boys were perfect but of course they were happy with their treats and winter walks.

DDog2 (Jack Russell cross) made it her mission to steal every item of food she could. She's incredibly resourceful and I swear she sits planning how to outwit us! One afternoon just before Christmas we went out for a couple of hours. I thought I had removed all food items. Came back to find the room absolutely littered with nutshells and she had eaten every single nut. How she got into them without breaking every tooth in her head I have no idea.

DDogs 3 and 4 (rescue shelties) had their first Christmas with us. They are ex puppy farm dogs, have spent 4 years in a cage so they were fascinated. 6 months ago they'd have been terrified but as it was they went around with a quizzical look on their faces, watching the tree, the decorations, the food(!) really intently. They were a delight and it was so rewarding.

Adore DDog2 but the next terrier I have will be an only dog, if I ever repeat the experience!

DDog1, by the way is nearly 13 and has seen it all many times before. He treated Christmas with the indifference he felt it deserved!

Mine was great - enjoyed frolicking in the snow much more than the small crying DC did.

Unfortunately got a nasty bite on New Years Eve, resulting in a gazillion stitches and enforced rest - not easy for a springer and ruined our lovely beach walk New Years day plans, poor dog.

So he's got prime sofa spot now and will keep it forever, I imagine.

One of mine has been quite unsettled by all the visitors, the tree and general hubub. She's been snappy with the sillybrowndog and overreacting on walks to absolutely anything. She'll be glad when we go back to normal next week.

My not so 'd'dog was very naughty and felt that the cat's new toy should be hers so she snapped at him and he panicked and broke his leg
I still haven't forgiven her

The other 2 ddogs were very good apart from one eating a huge lump of stollen cake

We had DPIL with their dogs, boy dog had a whale of a time running with his new pack, girl dog hated it and barely tolerated their presence.
She's had a lovely time since they left.
Compared to DPIL dogs they were angels (no throwing up, no messing in the house).

Our 3 have been suprisingly good! Puppy is 9 months old so we were expecting it to be a bit chaotic, but she saves the counter surfing and food obsession for home :/ had visions of her jumping up and stealing joints of meat from our pils very expensive dining room table, but she was good as gold :) old bully just slept mostly.
