Would you report this?/Is there someone I can report it to?

Someone at dh's work has a dog who he keeps in his car in the carpark all day while he's working. He's recently got a puppy too and is now keeping both the puppy and the older dog in the car all day. Dh isn't sure how long the guy is at work for but thinks around 12hrs.

Dh thinks there's no point reporting this because no ones going to do anything about it, the guy will lie and say it was a one-off and he (the man) doesn't care anyway. I'm worried the puppy might die now the weather is getting warmer Sad .

Would the rspca be interested in this, or is there someone else I can report it to?

Try your local authority dog warden for advice in the first instance. I have never had the RSPCA come out - even to emergencies. They did make a huge deal on their tv programme about a dog that was being kept outside someone's place of work that wasn't in a car though. Hmm

Thanks moose. I think it is probably a different dog warden for the area he works in; I will try to find the number. I think dh is right though and nothing will get done about it Angry .

I would gather some evidence so that if he does deny it you have something to rely on. Video would be good if possible, written daily diary notes including dates and times, photos etc.... and witnesses (other people who can verify some of this activity).

Then yes, I would report it to whoever is in charge of dog related matters in your area.... RSPCA, SPCA, police, council, dog warden.

I think it could very well be argued that the basic needs of the dogs are not being met, at the very least. As you say, even more worrying is leaving dogs in cars on warm days.
