Puppy with VERY bad wind on James Wellbeloved

Our almost 12 week lab bitch is still on James Wellbeloved that she was having with the breeder. She told us that the duck and turkey were the only ones the puppies liked. We bought a big bag of the duck-she loves it, that's definitely not the problem, but oh my god the wind!!! It's almost constant, and smells so bad. We notice it particularly in the evenings when we're in the lounge and she is by our feet-it's almost enough to knock us out
Anyway, I've decided we need to change it ASAP as we only have about a weeks worth of the jw left and I'm not buying more if I can help it. Ideally for the moment if I can buy it from pets at home that would be great as I can get there today, but in the longer term (most likely once she has grown as then you need to use less) I'd like to move onto raw feeding, but I need to convince dh first!
So the 2 options from pets at home seem to be wainwrights and applaws (friend has hers on wainwrights and loves it but allaboutdogfood rates applaws much higher) dpup is also fairly scratchy-I think maybe cutting out the grains would help this? In which case that counts out wainwrights.
Sorry for the ramble! I'm open to all other suggestions too

Well I went to pets at home and was going to buy the applaws or no grain wainwrights but surprise surprise they didn't have either so I've bought a small bag of the turkey and rice wainwrights whilst we decide what to do. It had the highest meat content of the flavours. I need to do more research and look elsewhere, but it's so bloody confusing-there are so many! I'll have a look at all the ones suggested, thank you

We moved our lab pup over from Wainwrights to Millies Wolfhart at about 12 weeks (read about it on here & it gets good reviews). She's now 21 weeks old and has no wind & her stools are much smaller & firmer (sorry if TMI!). You can only but it direct from them though.

Frozen-that sounds good-not tmi at all-that's what I'm most interested in I'll have a look now. Did your dpup have wind problems with wainwrights?

I know what you mean..... our pup was on Hills but the pong was just unbelievable.

We changed her to Eukanaba now and she is smelling much sweeter . We don't get the brands that you are discussing so I can comment there.

You do need to move over the food gradually, so using what you have left of your current one, start with 80/20 and slowly over about 5 days just to get her stomach used to the new one gradually.

We've been mixing 3/4 old food with 1/4 the new wainwrights, last night she are it, but slower than usual, and this morning 3 hours later she just finished picking all the James well beloved out and has left the wainwrights in her bowl. Normally it's all eaten in minutes! So I don't think she's a fan! Will need to sort something else out ASAP, I'm just not sure which one to try next

You might find it is just one type of the JWB that results in problems too - mine can't have the turkey version but the others are OK.

The pet food place we get ours from also recommended Symply and we might try this if the new JWB formulation seems not to agree.

No, our pup didn't have wind problems on Wainwrights but the poos were . We've seen a big change on Millies. Their customer service is very good so it's worth calling them for a chat. They also do next day delivery.

May be worth trying Barking Heads that's what my fussy dog eats ,he rarely has wind and does 2 firm poos ( maximum) per day.

Wind and loose poos disappeared within 2 days when we changed to Millies Wolfheart.
