Tell me what's wrong with my dog....please :D

Ok, mini schnauzer has been acting strangely for 2 days now. Has been very quiet and doing a lot of standing up and staring. He spent and hour and a half stood under the coffee table earlier, shaking. So I took him for a walk and he was perfectly normal. Eating, drinking and toileting fine. Once yesterday and once today he has been asleep upstairs and has flown down the stairs and jumped onto the sofa next to me which he knows is not allowed (and doesn't normally do).

Is this because he knows I'm about to go into labour? (I'm ready to drop). Or can he hear the newborn next door crying? (We can't). Or has he just skidded on the laminate and frightened himself?

Could be he's scared of slipping on the laminate. If he does it again put a towel or something down and see if he moves.
We've got hard flooring and lab goes through phases of suddenly being scared to walk on it, he gets stranded in the middle of the floor and stands silently getting in everyone's way. As soon as we put mat near him he walks onto it, gets a bit of a pain when we have to make a long trail to get him out the back door.

Aw bless him. Yes he has done that before but just seems like different behaviour this time....he does walk ok on it, whereas before he'd get stranded on the mat and not walk off it. Hmm
