Anyone else have a dog with hay fever?

Our poor dog has runny eyes, is sniffing, sneezing and snoring so badly she's kept us awake a couple of times this week.

I had her checked out at the vets a couple of months ago, who agreed the stuffy nose/snoring she had from time to time was probably an allergy.

Any advice? She's got an appointment with the vet next week. Presuming she'll prescribe anti-histamines. I do have loratadine and have checked online and it's suitable for dogs, any advice please?

Hydroxyzine is the one I find most successful with dogs.

Yes! Mine sneezes, which is quite funny awful to watch. I didn't want to go down the road of medication, so what I've found really helps is her own paddling pool - one of those kids ones that is half a blue shell (so it's hard plastic which can't be broken by claws). She has 'splash time' after every walk which seems to get rid of pollen on the paws and really reduces her symptoms. I just keep the pool full and change the water once a week. I don't have kids though so there's no worry about drowning wandering toddlers.

Yes, one of mine had it. Runny eyes & nose, scratching.
I give him Piriton. He was prescribed it by the vet but now I buy it. He's only little, small Yorkie, so his dose is half a tablet twice a day. Makes a huge difference to him.

Has it, not had it, unfortunately.
