Just curious re JRT and 'off' days??!!

My nearly-4-yr-old JRT is a happy little soul, very content, active etc. but once every two or three months she is not herself, she is meek, lays down in unusual places, is 'moody' (glum, not snappy) and takes herself off upstairs to 'get away' from everyone. Only ever lasts for one day.

Anyone else 's dog do this?

Can't be hormonal, she is spayed. Am I missing something??

Hello handy this is not normal I have known a dog to do this when I was younger and it had a recurring hernia I would really get this checked as it sounds like pain

Wondering about the anal glands . No idea how to empty them. She is licking there incessantly tonight. Her tummy is ok, soft , no pain, I can pick her up, rub her tum etc.

Get your vet to check anal glands when you go for check up jabs etc. It is the one task I would not do.
PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DO THEM YOURSELF, my vet is says they have had dogs in with internal tears because of amateurs having a go.
