My collie has been bitten by midges (we all have a couple of bites and it's definitely NOT fleas!) and has been chewing at one area in particular near the base of her tail now it it looking like we need to get to the vet before it gets worse or infected (open sore from all the gnawing.)
I have given her antihistamine which takes the edge off a bit but was wondering if anyone can suggest anything which we could apply directly, other than an antiseptic (I was thinking something soothing as it is clearly driving her nuts.)
