Any ideas as it drives me insane how much hair he loses, it literally ends up everywhere, even where he hasn't even been, as its carried around the house by us HELP

Get him clipped ,I send my Patterdale to the groomers every 6/8 weeks and have him clipped really short and I hardly notice any hair .

Thanks floralnomad, I shall have to ring my local dog groomers to find out about that I'd love it if it could be clipped short

Mine was malting like mad a few weeks ago, seems to have slowed down now. Can you give him/her a bath? A good scrub should get ridif a lot of it

I do give him a good brushing then a bath every 6 weeks or so but its still terrible, I like the idea of cutting it but I'm not sure why but I didn't think you could cut that type of hair (its quite 'wirey')

Daily brushing in the garden.

My Border Terrier has pretty wirey hair that is trimmed with no problems - he's so soft when he's done.

Mines hair is quite wirey ,he grows a lovely beard and 'Dennis Healey' eyebrows . My mum has JRT x borders and she has them hand stripped rather than clipped ,the groomers will be able to tell you which would suit yours better .
