Great Dane puppy won't walk on lead

My friend has got a Great Dane puppy, about 11 weeks old now. He's struggling to enjoy walking on the lead and just sits down and won't move when it's on, does any have any advice on how to encourage him?

Lots of desensitisation in the garden with a trailing lead and treats. Short on lead walks Smile
