Rain hating dogs are funny buggers aren't they

I was just saying to my husband how it amazes me that she just knows its raining, she doesn't go to the door and tap like she normally does when she needs to go but she can't see out of a window to see its raining she just makes no attempt to go outside, she just knows its raining and sneaks a wee indoors little bugger

Dafty dog is the same get to the back door and she backs away and goes back to bed !!!

My Staffie has point blank refused to go out all day. He must be dying for a wee but he just won't be pushed out of the door!

I do that so the dcs don't make me go outside and watch them cycle/push them on the swing/kick the ball back to them

Well you can all think of me when I'm doing my usual 90 minutes tramp in the pouring rain and snigger! Mine doesn't appear to even notice the weather.

Little dog, would cross her legs for 24 hours (in fact did when it snowed I had the pick her up and throw her out, she widdled on the doorstep and ran back in)

If she sees her coat come out she lies flat like a frog so you cant get it on, then skates across the kitchen floor while you drag her :)

Big Dog dosnt care as long as she gets out.

Both are Staffies :)

mine hates rain but loves puddles, baths are the same as rain and very very bad.
lakes, sea all fine - although waves must not be too big

I just took my staffy out for a run...took him a hundred years to decide it was ok to jump out of the boot of my car.

Then he was a hundred yards behind me the whole time because he stops and shakes the rain off every two minutes...even though it's raining constantly!

Rain hating dogs are the best!

So do most of yours have sly wees indoors even though they totally toilet trained normally, like mine does or could it because she's only 8 months and will she maybe learn to hold it in.

I've just taken her round the block with her raincoat on, I don't normally take her out this late but I thought she might toilet but no chance she loves puddle water and kept drinking even though I told her no, so now there's even more chance she'll wee indoors now!!

Big dog is a lab. She loves all water and has been known to lie down in puddles or jump in the bath with DD. She is so water obsessed that we cant take her to the nearest loch as it has blue algae and the last time we went she worked herself into a frenzy trying to get in. She hates rain though? It confuses and delights me.
Small dog just screams his displeasure if you try to walk him in the rain. An actual bloody scream.

My pup is wholeheartedly unimpressed by today's rain. He has only ever known one lot of rain since he was born and that was just a morning shower, so the ground was dry again within an hour or so. I think it's come as a shock to a lot of this year's summer born pups.

He keeps turning round to look at his bum, then look at me accusingly, as if he thinks it's me tapping on his rear end!

We've had him four weeks today and he's been clean in the house for three and a half, but today he was adamant he didn't need to go out when I opened the door and he saw the rain, then he came back in and promptly wee'd on the living room carpet.

He's a skinny little Lurcher pup, who came to us extremely underweight and still has very little body fat. Poor thing was shivering and trying to hide under our adult Lurcher first thing this morning, but he is still not happy to wear the lovely fleece lined raincoat we had made for him.

Mine is not the brightest so when i open the door for her to go out and she sees it's raining she reverses and goes to the other door...

If I put her collar on to go for a walk she couldn't care less though

When you lot are sitting in the warm with your bad weather hating dogs, think of me. Why did someone not tell me Springer Spaniels are very inconsiderate in this way before I fell for the big eyes and floppy ears??

My Border Collie x Belgian Shepherd girl was like that tooearly. She never noticed the weather throughout her whole life. She would spend all day, every day outside in whatever the weather had to throw at her, from rain to hail to fog and even snow deeper than her height. She loved it all.

He's lucky I love him lol. I've been stood on the beach throwing a tennis ball in thunder and lightning before now. The look of joy on his face makes it worthwhile

My 20 week old weimaraner does the same Moosemama. Looks at us accusingly as if we can stop water falling on her.

Last time it rained I took her out, and she was just about ok but then the rain got harder, and she ran to me wimpering. I crouched down and she simply clambered of my lap, shaking and crying.
I has to carry her the rest of the way, sheltered under my brolly. Part of me thought it was adorable, another part thought winter will be a shock to her and the last part of me just thought she was bloody heavy! I weighed her when we got home - 18kg! They'll be no carrying when she is full grown.

My fussy and fluffy Lhasa Apso doesn't mind the wind or drizzle, but side-steps puddles - she does have very fluffy paws/legs- and doesn't want to go out if it is raining properly. Also will not go out in the dark.
She went 23 hours once but just slept all that time.

My boxers hate the rain, they go one step forward and two steps back when you try and make them go out for a wee.

Wind hating cat here as well, kittencat does a commando crawl to try and get underneath the wind when out on the patio, he doesn't mind snow or rain but much prefers to stay in when its windy.

I keep telling my dog that he's a native Irish breed and so he shouldn't be bothered by the rain. He just gives me a blank look. He will, at least, go out to wee.
