Why does every male dog we meet try to mount my bitch??

She's not in season! Her last season finished about 8 weeks ago and since then she's been swimming in the lake, bathed several times and bloody clipped. Yet all the males are going mad for her and it's driving us mad! We've never had this problem in the past and I just don't get what's different this time? All her usual doggy playmates are following her round like lovesick pups, trying to hump her/lick her/generally piss her off. She's being un characteristically tolerant, but she's shown her teeth a few times when she's trying to chase her ball with a Sheltie attached to her rear end!

What can I do? HELP! Lol

Is getting her spayes not an option?

Yes she's booked in to be done next month; not had her done before now as I've been working several jobs and not been able to co-ordinate days off from them all to spend with her.

But why is she suddenly so bloody popular?? Whether she's spayed or not, she's not in season so surely shouldn't be attracting this much attention!

Did you wash all her bedding after her season finished?

Infection can make then smell like they are in season to other dogs. I would get he checked for pyometra just to be on the safe side. It's a uterine infection which is often without obvious symptoms but can be deadly if not treated.

Yeah washed all bedding recently. Didn't realise that about pyometra - I'll take her to the vets to be on the safe side :)

Hopefully it's nothing serious but definitely worth getting checked out.
