Help... I dropped my bowl, hands were slippy after cleaning up after him, I managed to save it from dropping to the floor. But a few weetabix minis and crumbs (end of pack) fell on the floor.
6 month old puppy, weighs 6.5kgs, ate 1 (could hear him chewing) and perhaps hoovered up a few crumbs.
I've asked my DBil and he said pup will be fine and as it happened an hour ago I would see a difference in him already.
I am happy to take him to vets (dont want to make a fool of myself tho). Not. Very experienced dog owner it DBil is a breeder so does know his stuff.
Should I trust him? Could never forgive myself if I have hurt puppy. Am in tears writing this, DH wants me to listen DBil. Can I have your worthy opnions. Argh, never buy chic cereals usually...treat for DCs hols but I guess it could have been a cookie, cake, even choc itself dropped on floor. Luckily it was me that dropped and not DC. TIA

Don't worry op, your pup will be fine.
If you pup had ate a bar of 70%dark chocolate I'd be more inclined to worry, a couple of weetabix chocolate minis won't affect him. Don't stress, go have a cuppa now and relax :)

Nothing to worry about whatsoever, you sound very stressed by something which honestly doesn't matter.

The potentially toxic dose of milk chocolate to a 6Kg dog is 55g. I have no idea just how much chocolate is in chocolate weetabix (coeliac so it never enters my house).
Dark chocolate the potentially toxic dose is 22g, baking chocolate even lower.

Thanks for info lonecatwithkitten. He probably had 0.25kg as they are more like choc spots than drops. Will relax now
