We have a crazy 3yo cocker spaniel and a 12 day old daughter. We were wondering how the dog would react and let him have good sniffs around her, lots of positive reinforcement of good and gentle behaviour etc.
After a few days of being on high alert and barking lots, digging a little etc (which we kinda expected) he's become increasingly placid. Tonight we gave him a new toy - he's taken it to his crate and is licking it! 
Normally it'd be shredded by now.
Are we missing something worrying - it seems too good to be true...?
Anyone had similar experiences?
