My collie x hasn't been well since Tuesday, originally thought she wasn't liking the weather and tends to have depressed, quiet days now shed getting older (shes 13),thought she would perk up but didn't. I took her to the vet Thursday, her temp was really high 40c and gland in her anus was swollen. Vet gave her 2 injections and 2 different types of antibiotics. Told us to take her back Monday for a check up or sooner if gets worse or wont take on water.
She's not worse but I don't feel she's any better either, should the antibiotics be starting to work by now?
All shes doing is sleeping and panting, can't get around much as seems very stiff.
She also had colitis a few months ago, changed her diet to a more bland one, could this be linked?

Two days is a bit soon to see a real difference (though I'm impatient after one!). Is she keeping cool enough? Hoping you'll see a difference today/tomorrow. Maybe a cool shower would help her? Diet should have stabilised by now I'd have thought. Fingers crossed. x

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Pyometra is a scary illness as it has very few clear symptoms until the dog is seriously ill.

You don't have to move her bed and bowl yet if you don't want to. Do whatever feels right, there are no rules about how you should be feeling or behaving.

Allow yourself some space and time to grieve.
