Ive just done a very stupid thing. I had a look at my local rescue web page.

someone tell me that I cant possibly adopt a boxer friend for my boxer baby

hes toilet trained, not young, boisterous, loves to play, good with older teens but only cause hes boisterous (my kids are used to Lolly who makes boisterous look like sleeping)

and in need of a home

lolly is a big lump who loves to play

she would adore him
and he would be big enough to play properly with her

the kids have no issue with big and boisterous
they laugh off a dog bumping into them and knocking them over

we have a huge garden that is now secure
takes like three hours for me to mow

He's gorgeous
I have a dog, 3 cats, a tortoise and fish all from or heading to rescue...I never ever look at the rescue pages

I think the only way you can stop thinking about him is to go and visit him and see how perfect unsuitable he is for you

One word of caution only .....is your boxer baby trained? ie sits/walks happily on a lead/ recall is good etc.?
If so then I think the rescue has your name written all over him
If not, then I would think twice because rescues will need a lot of settling and/or training ....and you really don't want 2 boxers neither of which will do as they are told!! ......the naughty behaviour is infectious, and they feed off each other.

Two dogs together is just wonderful ....they play and have so much fun!!

lolly is doing very well now
we have sorted the chasing cars ...almost completely
she sits, she doesn't beg for food, in fact I hate even being looked at when eating so have worked very hard on that
she loves everyone but doesn't jump up, another pet hate although she jumps up for a standing cuddle with me on command
she is a leetle strong on the lead but I have obedience classes booked for the 16th to help with that
and we live in the middle of nowhere and rarely need her to be on a lead
she runs alongside me on the bike nicely and her
'becoming a teen' fear aggression barking is getting very much under control now

Sounds like Lolly is grown up enough to enter into this relationship.

I think you'd better print off a picture of him and put it on your fridge with 'Oh but I couldn't' written on it. If after 10 mins a while you still look at that gorgeous boy and want him than it's destiny.

I might just be really slow mowing lol
I do have to empty the grass by walking to the end of the garden and chucking it over onto the beachy bit ish so that takes a bit of time

Oh, he is absolutely gorgeous!! And I bet you'd barely notice he was there except when he came for a snog...big old squidgychops that he is...

Make the call.
It could solve everything if it turns out he is unsuitable to live with other dogs/children/people who have wonderful country homes made for romping in
Or he may already have found a home.

If you call, visit and he ticks every box ........well every animal I have ever owned has dropped into my life because of fate! some things are just meant to be!!
