So have a load of frames from the butcher. They are loads cheaper than Tesco frozen chicken. And have plenty meat.

She is fine with wings and drumsticks and thighs. But these have all the little rib bits and back bones. And she is a big thick lab.

Am I ok to lob a frozen half in the garden and let her get on with it. Tell me straight, am I being precious worrying about the back bone?

I've been researching BARF recently and most of the sites I've come across say chicken backs are fine - lots of people feed whole carcasses, or quarter them for smaller meals.

I'm basing the above on this...

This also recommends chicken backs

I have never given mine one of those purely as I haven't come accross anyone. I would though. He has had chicken quarters with all bones attached.

I give mine chicken carcasses...he just kind of crunches away on them, it's a bit disgusting to watch, but other than that there's no issue that I can see.

Cool. It is just the chicken back/carcass but obviously because I can see the bones I wibbled. Realistically I imagine they are no different to wing bone, but I can see them Smile
