Why does new puppy poo on older dog's bed?

Have searched the internet for help on this but to no avail. We have a new cockapoo puppy, who is now 10 weeks old and has been with us for 2 weeks. House training going reasonably well, apart from his desire to poo on my older dog's bed, which does not endear him to the lab at all. She had started to consider it ok that he was cuddling up to her on it and then...disgust!

Does anyone know why he's doing this? It's a big fleece bed, and every time he does it I wash the whole thing.

Watching with interest as our pup will very consciously wee on GingerDogs bed- this makes GingerDog even more enraged with the puppy than ever :o

I have a Westie who has always weed on her own bed, vet just laughed when I tried to get help from her, I've never been able to find out how to stop her, she now wears nappys as I got sick of washing bedding every day Blush

Our new puppy weed on the older dogs' blanket for a few weeks - I always thought it was because she liked having a wee on something absorbent, and the bed was the nearest absorbent thing.

It stopped once she got the hang of house training, and was also able to last through the night.
