Name suggestions for choc lab pup!

Hi, we're getting a female chocolate labrador pup soon and would appreciate some name suggestions!
We have a magnetic notice board on our fridge and for the last few weeks the whole family has been adding/removing names on a daily basis but we can't agree on one (it's nearly as bad as trying to decide on names for the kids!)
Help Mumsnetters!

My fantasy dog when we have won the lottery, are about more in the day etc is a choc lab called Dora.
Unbelievably, someone has already suggested this!

Whojamaflip, we used to have a cat called Marmite!

I'd go for Fudge, but it's already been suggested twice.

tattychicken · 02/04/2013 22:33

Beyonce?

Whippoorwhill · 02/04/2013 22:44

Our choc lab/springer cross ended up being Hazel but I wanted Truffle or Button.

topbannana · 03/04/2013 13:55

I like Buttons and also Frog (DS is a big Harry Potter fan!) if you are going with a chocolate theme. You could also have Chip or Drop :o

We always seem to go for human names and are currently in discussion over new dog names for our impending puppy. However hard I stamp my feet and come up with witty dog names we always seem to end up with a human name

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 03/04/2013 15:18

We have a choc lab called Coco (sorry, PlasticLentilWeaver Blush), and my PIL had one called Fudge.

I'd love to have a choc lab called Smartie. I think whatever name you choose has to reflect their slightly dim but loveable natures, and their uber-cuddliness.

I think Winnie is a good idea, and also Doris, Bertha, and Aggie.

ClaraOswald · 03/04/2013 16:27

I always wanted a choc lab named Emma actually.

I was about nine when I read Emma's story, a real life account of one puppys journey to be a guide dog and then read the other books by her owner.

dublindee · 03/04/2013 16:35

Fudge

ajandjjmum · 03/04/2013 16:40

We have a black lab, and spent days making lists of names. He was referred to as PJ in the meantime (Puppy J(oursurname) - it's never changed!

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 03/04/2013 16:43

Shoe
Nora (Geddit?)
Zeb
Mojo
Bella
Sugar (Shug for short)

Irishmammybread · 03/04/2013 19:12

Thanks everyone, lots of good names. We've added some to our shortlist(which has become a lot longer!)
I love the name Trouble but wonder if it may become a self-fulfilling prophecy!
We're leaning more towards human names at the moment but will make the final decision once we've met her.
With each of our three DC we changed our minds completely about a chosen name after they were actually born!
I appreciate people taking the time to make suggestions.x
