There may be a really obvious answer to this, but if there is then I haven't thought of it! Things have settled down with rescue Gymdog (4 months here) and our cat (12 years here) to the extent where she has now used the catflap a couple of times for the first time since he arrived. Major milestone! This is instead of me letting her out of a window and me going into the garden to trap carry her back in several days later.
Unfortunately, the 'catflap' has nothing flappy about it and is now just a plastic framed hole in the back door. Gymdog has broken the flappy bit by jamming his head through it and snapping the plastic hanging bits. I replaced it, he did it again. He's also done this to the fancy cat litter with the flappy entrance.
At the moment we have a breadboard leaned up against the hole in the door. If I move the breadboard, particularly overnight, the kitchen gets so cold we end up with the heating coming on all night. It would be ok in the summer.
So, is there a catflap my dog won't break?
