Make up your mind dog, in or out!

Am sure we aren't the only ones having this problem at this time of year. Any tips appreciated!
Our dog stands by the door wanting to go out, let him out, he'll play until you shut the door, then he'll sit on the doorstep until you open the door, let him back in and then the cycle repeats...
It's too cold to leave the door open, any tips or do I just need to put up with it?

Mine does that too! Luckily we have a utility room so i can shut the door into the kitchen but she can get in.

Ha ha, not sure DH will be up for moving house for the dog, no harm trying though lol

Hope someone's got the answer, my dog does exactly the same. Keeps wanting to go out the back door, I let him out and close the door because its freezing and 2 seconds later he's sitting there whining to come back in.
Also got a cat that keeps mewing to go out the front door, then when he's let out and realises its cold/raining/windy yells to come back in. If we don't react instantly he scrabbles at the door with his claws and takes the paint off. Very frustrating because we can't not let them out in case they're bursting for a wee.

Mine does this. He'll go out, I'll close the door, 2 seconds later he wants back in, 5 seconds later he wants out again!

Nice to hear we're not alone with the contrary animals!

I actually think what they are trying to tell us is that they would like us to come out in the wind/rain/cold/snow and play with them!

little When mine wants me to play outside with him he'll pick up a toy and take it to the door, then look back pleadingly at me. I've ended up playing fetch in the rain! I'm such a sucker but it's the eyes!

Mine never does it.
I love him for that.
