My foster dog is here.....and refusing to sleep

So we have a 6 month old Rottie staying for a little while until he finds his "forever" home. He is adorable. Big dog and little dog love him. DCs love him. DH loves him.

However, he loves me. And will only sleep if I sit next to him on the floor
He is in our bedroom but every time I get off the floor and in to bed he cries.
I know I should leave him to cry but I won't

Every time he cries, little dog joins in.

I'm going to be sleeping on the floor, aren't I?

He is soooo lovely though, I keep looking around our house to see if I could fit him in permanently.
Even though I know I can't. :(

Oh you lucky thing! I so miss having a dog to hug and lie down with on the floor have a black cocker spaniel at home (parents) and miss his silky cuddles :(

Hes on the bloody bed with me now. And big dog and little dog are up here as well cos they are jealous :( It's a bit crowded.

Ahhh! You sound lurvely!

I'm not lovely. DH is now sleeping in the spare room and big dog is snoring. I've had to get up and make a cup of tea. And little dog will be jumping about at 6 for a walk :(

There's nowt quite like the lurve I doggies tho! And the fact that you will have em sleepin with you means you've v naice! I know lots of people who would instantly make a cats bum face at the mere thought of allowing pets bed space (not me; tis like a pettin zoo in our house)!

Well, seeing as DH is currently sleeping whilst I am surrounded by farting, whimpering, snoring dogs (and big dog having a little bark at the car alarm going off) he is doing the 6am walk :)

My dogs always sleep upstairs, at one point last year I had 5 of them in the bed :)

Every foster home at some point meets their Waterloo and ends up "failing" and with an extra, unplanned member of the family.

We currently have three fosters in - one long term (who will almost certainly become permanent) and two who are staying while their owner is in hospital. One of these was a foster with us before she was adopted some five years ago. so am trying not to think it was meant that she came back to us.

So, as a four greyhound home, it's fair to say that both sofa and bed space is at a premium and this morning was typical - ended up with two dogs sleeping on the bed, and DH and me both pushed out to various corners of the bed. I must be mad because I love it and wouldn't have it any other way.

How're your lovely pooches today tantrums?

toughasoldboots, big dog was a foster dog that we kept, little dog was also a foster dog. I'd love to keep maximilli but I have no room unless DH or one of the DCs move out :)

Weve had about 15 fosters over the years and it breaks my heart giving them up but I keep in touch with all the owners and I know they are all in good homes.

First time we have had a rottie but he is gorgeous.
Hes really really scared of everything, he was treated really badly by his owner but hopefully we will have him feeling a bit more confident soon, ready to go to his "forever" home.
