Cone on spayed dog.

Had my cavapoo spayed yesterday. Just wondered when it is safe to take horrible cone head off? She is trying to get at stitches and keeps trying to scratch. She is being such a good girl with the cone but I would like to take it off. When will the stitches be settled enough to take it off ?

Mine was a rescue too. Was in a state as a puppy but lovely now. Think there can be some snobbishness about crossbreeds but each to their own!

Cone kept on for 3 days now. Gold star for us.

Oh no I love crossbreeds! I just hate all the stupid names people give them these days eg. Cavapoos, Jugs, Jackahuahua etc. I call my 2 mutts which are exactly what they are :)

Gald to hear it wiggypigs . I dont mind what they are called really.... just that it might give an idea of approx size etc ... M is great scrufts type dog who is a snaile by nature for sure !

I tried the towel collar and although she seemed to accept it she got it off. Prob ok for if we are around and about but I had to leave her alone for a bit and she got it off .. so cone it is for then.

I think I just have a bee in my bonnet about the whole "designer dog" thing. Hearing people talk about their "golden doodle" like it's some amazing new breed and they have spent a small fortune on it just makes me go argggh!

I can see what you mean ...... and hate it when dogs are sold with such inflated prices because of it . My "other" dog is a long haired gsd . Personally I guess my "thing" is sort on the lines of ..... breed for "pedigrees " if that what rocks ones boat but not for such extremes of shape to the detriment of health ( mental or physical) that does certainly happen.
