i have to admit i have never been a fan of small dogs always had the lager breeds such as labs and dalmatians, but having a 5 year old dd we thought the larger breeds would be a little too much for her, we were going for a king charles, but decided on a rescue dog and we found the most adorable 5 month old jack russell boy and he is a absolute dream, only had him a week and already he sits, lays and stays always asks to go out to do his business, dd is in her element as he likes to snuggle up on the sofa with her whilst she reads him a story, he follows her round the garden and sits and watches her whilst she make mud pies, he even goes for a swim in her paddling pool, and the conversations she has with him are so funny wish id got a small dog years ago
