This came through my facebook feed.

TYLER, Staffie, male, 4 years old, microchipped.
Brilliant with kids and other dogs.
Pending further information!
Reason - Owner is only 28 years old and has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. She is due to start an agressive course of Chemo, its not going to prolong her life just to help relieve the pain. She just wants the best for Tyler. Poor lady has approached a rescue and was shot down by them saying she shouldnt have taken a dog on a whim. Shes had Tyler from a pup, FFS how was she to know her life would be cut short by this terrible disease
AREA - BIRMINGHAM but can travel

Oh that is terribly sad. Poor woman and dreadful of the rescue to speak to her in that way.

Am unable to help- personally but do hope he finds a lovely new home somewhere near his old owner as it would be great for her to see him from time to time, and know that he is happy.

Has she tried contacting Cinnamon Trust? As a charity they can help by walking her dog while she is ill, and finding a loving permanent home after she has died. In this way, she and her dog can stay together for as long as possible. I'm a CT volunteer myself, and when my friend had terminal cancer, it helped her enormously to have her dogs around, and to know they would be looked after, after her passing.

Am slightly Hmm at stated response of rescue - would love to know which rescue it was and if the whole story was provided. Most rescues will bend over backwards to help in this sort of circumstance.

god how awful. Like Scuttle said, Cinnamon Trust - but the sad fact is rescue is overwhelmed with dogs, especially staffie/bull breeds at moment. Sad

Maybe local SBT rescue in midlands could help too.

I will mention that on the Facebook post. Thank you.
