midor the bbc piece states that the owner accepted he was a "pitbull type" - if the owner accepts this then why can no one else?

how many dog attacks need to happen before people see that banned breeds are banned for a reason.?

GingerWrath · 13/07/2012 17:18

Vicar, the owner agreed that he matched pit bull measurements, however, he was DNA tested and was proven to be a bulldog lab cross. DNA evidence cannot be used because he law states only the dogs measurements matter.

GingerWrath · 13/07/2012 17:19

And thus far his brother is still free because he was born with more lab like measurements.

or do we believe that the dog was looked at by experts on dogs and dog behaviouralists and deemed to be unsafe and unpredictable?

Well, it wasn't. The dog was, however, seen and assessed by at least two qualified and very experienced behaviourists/dog experts and deemed to be safe. The BCC 'expert' who deemed him unsafe was not a behaviourist and actually later tried (unsuccessfully) to sue Victoria Stillwell because she spokme out about his lack of qualification to assess Lennox.

There's a statement from one of the behaviourists who assessed Lennox here:

The courts could have given a certificate of exemption for Lennox, but they didn't. They could have allowed him to be taken (at her own cost) by Victoria Stilwell to live his life out away from the public in the USA. But they didn't. They could have even, after deciding to destroy him, allow his family to say goodbye, but they didn't. They didn't even allow them to have his dead body returned to them. He couldn't harm anyone dead, could he? So what have they got to hide?
