adv- dog escaped from a garden and attacked my dog

I was walking home from school with ds and dog (on lead), when a big, boxer-type dog escaped from a garden and started barking and biting my labrador on the back. I was screaming out for them to call the dog back, but nobody appeared, I was dragged to the floor (am 7 months pg) and no FUCKER came to help (which iswhat I am more upset about).
The dog then ran offf down the street, so I got up and knocked on the door of the house, but there was nobody in.
So we walked home.
I am still upset and shaken up. My dog seems fine, hasnt broken the skin, ds is upset too, as there was nothing he could do to help!
Who do I report this to? Police? Im bloody furious.

Dh said hes going to knock on the house tonight, but Im worried in case it turns nasty?
Thanks

Why dont you contact the local dog warden for advice?
Unfortunatly my dog recently attacked another elderly dog of our neighbours, and i was so upset by this i have paid their vet bill (no major damage thankfully), booked my dog in with a behaviourist, and bought several packs of dog treats & written a sorry card from my dog and left them on their doorstep. Now if thats not responsible i dont know what is. I hate it when people dont help/take responsiblity....

id try your local dog warden for advice, or posssibly a vet in your area?

Report to dog warden maybe?

Report to dog warden. The number will be on your council's website - ours has a 'report online' feature which is very handy, others may be similar. Be sure to include date, time, address, type of dog and your contact details.

If the dog is aggressive and still loose I'd call the police.
