thats it really, I have given my pup little bits of chicken (boiled) puppy treat biscuits which she turns her nose up to, guessing because chicken is nicer! and have used tiny bit of ham when i had no chicken.

any thing else? what do you use?

Flynn has had natures menu treats which he liked but he has moved on to liver cake, disgusting to make but he adores it, as did the little Jack Russell we met at the park earlier.

Liver cake is our standard, but the ultimate is hotdog sausage or cheese. He will do anything for cheese and it was the treat of choice at puppy class.

Hotdogs, garlic sausage or really smelly cheese cut up very small works every time for my dog

liver cake?? whats that then?

I put bits of chicken with willows dinner and earlier she ran over to where i place her food to see if there was any more after treating her for weeing outside. dont want to confuse her with treat/ dinner. so think i need a new idea for treat.

puppy biscuits treats im using are nutri-boost from pets at home, but she dont rate them!

Dried liver. They will do anything for a small piece of dried liver.

Livercake recipe - www.cleverdogcompany.com/tl_files/factsheets/Liver%20cake%20recipe.pdf

although I did mine in the oven. It does smell vile but I am not a fan of liver anyway so maybe reacted strongly to the smell.

thanks groovejet, how long does it keep for in the freezer and how long to defrost? also how big a chunk do you give Flynn when treating? is there a limit of how much?

sorry for all the questions, want to do my best :)

will try cheese & sausages, got this handy in the fridge.

Liver cake here too, though salami, frankfurters and cheese are also very popular.

With the livercake, I cut it into tiny pieces once it's cooled then store them all in a bag in the freezer. Then I can just take a handful out whenever I need them. ArseDog doesn't seem to care whether they are frozen or not. He'd do almost anything for a bit of livercake, his most favourite thing ever next to chewing shoes Angry

is it better to be defrosted or doesnt matter?

I cut the cake into chunks and just break of a small pea size amount for him. Not sure about how long it lasts in freezer only my first time making it :)

Going to try frankfurters myself so I can mix up the treats a little bit.

The nature menu treats I mentioned were from pets at home, only a small bag but they were soft so easy to eat and easy to break up into smaller pieces.

Hot dogs- cut into teeny tiny chunks. Keep one whole though for waving around in dogs face, a 6 inch giant sausage in your hand is a sure fire way to get attention!
