I have submitted an app for a failed guide dog but I still would dearly love a puppy. I know that the puppy stage is very difficult and that it is very trying, tiring, overwhelming etc. but I cannot decide once and for all what route to take. I would consider a rescue dog (prefer retriever breeds above all others which is why I have gone Guide Dog organisation route). Pro's/cons please. Driving myself (and everyone around me) barmey with my indecision!

I should have said, my Lab puppy is a very expensive rescue, so it can happen. Mum and puppys were rescued. Smile

You can choose your own insurance btw, you don't have to have the breeders choice.

UnWiseDog1 came to us at 10 weeks and it was a lovely experience having her from a tiny pup. The amount of time a puppy takes is immense. It's very rewarding, though.
UnWiseDog2 is a "failed" guide dog. She came to us a few weeks ago and is just over 2. She's beautifully trained and has slotted right in to the family.

Can't say which is right for you. Depends what you feel able and willing to take on!
