We might get the rescue after all!

I'd posted earlier this week about a rescue dog we weren't chosen for. Seems because we'd put 2 possibilities on the application they figured we'd take the other dog. We liked the other dog but she was just too big.

I just had a call from the rescue group. Seems the family that was supposed to get our first choice has decided against him. We were next on the list! I'm going to try to set up another visit with his foster family. If all goes well, he could be in our house by Sunday!

I'm so excited! And willing the foster family to email me NOW!

Well done. I hope that it all works out and that you have a little furry going home with you at the weekend. We got our rescue dog 3 weeks ago this Sunday. He is a joy. A little terrier mix of some kind, and who knows what else. We love him!

We were lucky and got first dibs on him, and he with us.

What type is yours or do they know?

Our fella is a heeler mix. Mixed with what? Who knows. But he's awfully cute and the foster says he's been really easy - no issues with their other dogs or cats and enjoys the kids.

We're off to see him in a couple minutes (U.S. time).

I'm not sure who's more excited - DS (4) or me. DS dug through all his clothes this morning until he found the shirt with a dog on it!
