Antifreeze to kill pigeons, would it be very toxic to dogs

We have a pigeon problem, OH wants to use poison, I said no because dogs might eat the dead birds. So someone has told him to put antifreeze on the roof in bowls so they drink it. Quite apart from sounding like an evil plot thought up by some kind of despot, what would happen if the dogs get hold of a corpse?

The major problem with antifreeze is that it tastes yummy and sweet to animals hence they want to drink it and will try hard to get to it to drink it.

Then it kills a slow linger painful death. Symptoms can be drunken behavior,wobbly, uncoordinated movement, Nausea,Excessive urination,Diarrhea
Rapid heart beat,Depression,Weakness,Seizures/Convulsions/Shaking tremors
Fainting,Coma and often death.

5 tsp can kill a dog.

It can leak from your car onto the ground dogs, cats lick it up and that can be enough to kill them.

Thank you everyone who gave me links, I've used the info to guilt-trip OH out of this evil idiotic course of action. Apparently the prick person who gave him the advice told him the birds would "just fly away" on OH applied his Perfect World logic to this and came up with a swift and painless death.

I gave him graphic details to the contrary as he's squeamish

People kill rats though, or rather dont think it's bad to kill them.

Btw, I dont agree with the antifreeze idea, but I cant say I have a massive issue with pigeon culls. Went right off Ken after he backtracked on pigeon genocide in Traf Sq

That's what I was struggling to get across to OH, but with the cold hard facts I got from the links I was given I have managed to dissuade him now.

That's good, if you shoot them you can eat them!

That is, unless someone else has poisoned them with antifreeze and they are not dead yet!

It's probably an offence to do that to pigeons. Horrible too!
