Fellow dog walkers!

I'm worried about SUMMER. You'd think I would rejoice at the idea of no longer trudging around with my big bad waterproof coat on, but no.

I'm worried about the lack of POCKETS.

Today I had with me; poo bags, tennis ball, bag of hot dog treats, clicker, more poo bags, my keys, dog lead, tuggy rope toy, training dummy, ball thrower, my phone, iPod and my cigs.

What the BUGGERY will I do when I don't have a large selection of pockets?!

Summer?......ah.... that's when I wear my thinner waterproof jacket with zippy pockets Wink

I do the keys round my neck on a lanyard thing, and wear spectacularly baggy 3/4 cargos for pocket use. I used to have a lovely bumbag but it died. I've also got a rather nice green day-sack bag, use it in hot weather to carry water for the dogs and me.

Oh dear... I have been so used to seeing people at shows/ringcraft/dog training with bumbags for years, it never occurred to me they might be an embarrassing thing to wear... Blush

When I run the dog in the summer I've usually got my keys in one jeans pocket and some poo bags stuffed in the other. The lead and whistle go round my neck. I might have my phone in there too.

What are these toys and treats that you speak of? Are you all in training?

Have to carry almost as much for walking a ferret. I dispensed with the clicker (especially after trapping my finger in it) by clicking tongue against teeth instead. It works just as well, in fact gives me better and faster control (of clicking) and I wonder why other people don't do this? I guess this is why mouth-clicking has been the traditional way of communicating with horses - or have I seen too many horsy films?
