10 mth pup wee'ing in the house

Our 10 mth old Border Terrier has started lifting his leg in the house. He has been fully housetrained for months and months and never has accidents - and I don't think these are accidents! Several things have changed for him of late - firstly, we had to have our 14 yr old Lab PTS a fortnight ago so he is really missing her and secondly, having been caught chasing sheep, he is now on a very tight rein and we don't let him out without supervision whereas in the past, he would have been a very happy camper in the garden and adjoining field ... until he started to stray.

We do give him one off-lead run each day before breakfast when he gets half an hour outside and doesn't go further than the bottom of the garden. Other than that he's taken out on a lead. He gets walks and DH has been doing a fair amount of training with him. Rest of the time, he hangs about the house. He was neuteured a few days ago which we hope will help.

Any suggestions re the wee'ing please? We can have him out on the lead and he might lift his leg a few times, or not at all, but then he will come in and do a massive wee inside. He is getting regular trips out and praise when he goes - back to basics really - but I'm beginning to despair. All suggestions appreciated.

Thanks.
