Shall I get a dog?......

I have always wanted a dog! And I personally think that now is the right time as I am on maternity leave until June, therefore have time to train a pooch! I do have 3 cats (really well behaved) and a 4 month old DS. I know I am building a rod for my own back but it is what both me and DP want. My DM thinks I'm mad. Am I?

I would suggest fostering an older dog for the time being. I really want another dog but we've got two cats and an alsatian and a baby on the way and we just can't afford the time or money. If we didn't have the dog I'd have fostered but I don't think it's fair on our dog to keep introducing new animals which she'd have to test her dominance on time and time again.
