ok I need a bit of advice to pursuade Dh that getting a new dog is a good thing.
Our little dog died last year Sad this is the reason he doesnt want to get a new dog he said everybody was too upset , I said its ok to be sad and move on ,
I love having a dog around and its usually me who fed and poopicked anyway so the day to day of having a dog is down to me ,

so any suggestions would be great , ive been looking on rescue websites maybe i should stop because I want them all .

Im in the same boat :(
I have just found my perfect dog who needs rehoming at a local rescue centre.
I want to give him his forever home. I have had dogs for years and i know its not a walk in the park raising dogs, BUT i want to do it.
thhis poor boy deserves a happy home :(

I have asked DH to consider it so we will have to see

It is devastating when its that time :(
Do you think your dh will come round to the idea?
Just keep reminding him of all the fun things you could do with a dog.
The greating you with a lick and a wagging tale EVERYTIME they see you. They love you unconditionally, that sells it to me each time

Some people take longer than others to want another dog. When we lost our last dog DH was devastated it took him 4 years to even be able to discuss what kind of dog we would have and another 2 years to be at the point which I could get a dog.
I'm glad I didn't rush him into getting a dog sooner than he was ready.

thank you lizcat I am not going to push it i think your right he did say when the kids who are teens moved on he would think about it seems so long away though, North he was mentioning a few weeks ago about being bored on a sunday he then said if we had a Do.. then stopped himself , I think its more company for me TBH
