So what coat does your dog wear?

So Mobile Mop is sporting his tweed deerstalker/Sherlock Holmes style today and is very pleased with himself. He likes this better than the waterproof horse rug style one.

My dog wouldn't be seen dead in clothing. He's far too hard for that. Instead, he just refuses to go out if it's too cold/raining. Grin

ooh, a coat porn thread. This is nearly as good as collars. Grin I LOVE the idea of a Sherlock Holmes dog. Sounds perfect. Is his tweed from Silver Peacock here or did you get the family tailor to run one up? I like the idea of tweed - it would probably last for years and years.

Must confess ours have a range of coats, depending on weather. Largest greyhound is sporting a very nice new navy one that I bought at Olympia - fab showjumping, narrowly missed seeing Minimuu in the agility (by one day) and gorgeous shopping - everything for anyone who likes horses and dogs. DH refers to the dogs as Ming the merciless when wearing the coats with collars as they stand up in behind their necks in a sort of space opera arch villain kind of way. Grin

We have a Westie. She wears this.

I'd really like her to wear this. Mwahahahaha!

Mobile Mop is now at home so unable to take photo currently (he only works mornings you know). The tweed number came from scats (I didn't tell him that), it is a lovely fern green with lines of red and blue through it has a collar that can be turned up if it is windy with a hole to poke the lead through and it has the body protector that goes between the front legs and then round the abdomen.
He only wears this outfit to work when he is in his office dog mode at Agility he is super hard dog who would never consider an outfit - oh, but he did dress as a snowflake for the christmas party.
I lie I found a picture of the outfit here

Oooh...I like that, Lizcat. What sort of dog is Mobile Mop?

I'm lusting after this but I think DH would refuse to ever walk her again Grin.

GrimmaTheNome · 02/02/2012 17:43

Dark green equafleece - the polo neck specifically for dachshunds. But he only wears it when we're picking up DD from the bus-stop and he has to stand around- doesn't wear it when walking.

Lizcat · 02/02/2012 17:45

He is a chocolate Cockapoo that minces a fair amount. So his floppy ears do help to add to the look particularly as he has a very girly ear clip this time. He is very much a meterosexual dog totally loving his pampering at the parlour every 8 weeks.
DH just says he is ridiculous.

DH thinks our dog is ridiculous too. He doesn't realize that his (feigned) disdain makes her even more devoted to him Grin.

Is this the one, Grimma? Awwww...

GrimmaTheNome · 02/02/2012 20:21

Yes, you're right, its the dachsie jumper not the polo neck. Like the chap in the middle except green jumper, black and tan dog.
