I've just given him his worming tablet. Wrap it in chorizo... job done.

Lol!!!!

I have one that thinks they are sweets and just eats them the daft mutt.

SoupDragon · 14/12/2011 12:05

Has to be said, my childhood spaniel used to eat the bacon and spit out the pill with a triumphant look on his face.

Dill is a proper dog though.

The cats OTOH... the vet will be giving them the tablet - I don't have enough arms.

Love it! Mine think they are sweets too, and carefully pick them out of their bowl to eat first. V funny.

Giving one of my cats tablets is a doddle, I don't even need to bribe her, I rattle the pill bottle and she comes running, I pick her up, she purrs at me a bit and I pop a tablet in her mouth, she obligingly swallows it, pulls a face ( I assume it tastes nasty) and I put her down again.

Of course the other one draws blood when I just hold her, never mind try to give her a tablet Hmm

Wrap it in a bit of ham. Worked on dog (doofus) and cat (quite wily) yesterday :)

SoupDragon · 14/12/2011 17:16

I had to give one of the cats ABs for about a month after I got her.

The vet simply grasped her behind the head, levered the jaws open with the same hand and popped the pill in. Job done.

I had to wrap her in a towel, prise the jaws open, pop the pill in, retrieve the pill, prise the jaws open, throw the pill at the back of her throat

hahaha although, what sort of poncery is this hiding the tablet in chorizo?

My dog gets tablets in a bit of bread and nowt else

It was sliced chorizo for pizzas, slightly too out of date for human consumption :o

Cheese works too.

heh heh Grin

Well that's alright then. Out of dateness negates poncery of the tablet-cloaking sausage.
