As additions to your shopping list, you'll need kitchen roll, bio washing liquid, rubber gloves, many, many poo bags and germ killer. Puppies wee and poo frequently - and even if it's in the garden you'll be poo picking! Ours all have a favourite soft toy too - and as pups have loved little soft toys they can squeak - pets at home do a little sausage dog thing which has been well loved by our 2 most recent puppies.

My most repeated bit of advice is manage the resting time of your pup carefully. A bit like children, the more wound up and tired they get, the worse they behave. An over stimulated puppy is no fun for anyone.
They really, really only need 5 ish minutes of exercise (ie on a lead or out walking) per month of life until they're about a year old. Lots of lovely basics training - 5 minutes a day of sit, stay, walk to heel and come until it's rock solid.
