Our 6 month old Border Terrier pup has developed a habit of jumping up and snapping at our fingers looking for food. He's terribly greedy and if he thinks you have food in your hand, well he wants it. Has managed to grab biscuits from DH's hand. It's becoming a really bad habit and I'm worried he will snap at one of the children - he did make contact with DH's finger yesterday. There's no badness in him, it's just bad manners!! So, how do we teach him not to do it? I should probably say that DH has been known to make the dog a slice of toast just so as he'll get peace to eat his own toast! I guess that's the first bad habit which ought to go?!
Thanks
