Chav boy bullying his puppy on the bus.

Made me want to cry. He was sat at the back of the bus with what looked like a 6-9 MO Staffie X.

He kicked her (discreetly), got her to jump up and told her to 'Get fuck off meh!" when she showed affection. The poor little thing looked hungry and frightened. She was shaking, you could see her ribs, she obviously had something wrong with her as she kept inhaling loudly, like a big sniffle iyswim. The 'sniffles' got harsh 'Shut the FUCK up's and got shoved onto the floor again. Never stopped confusing the poor thing with "Aw come here" then "Fuck off!".

Oh it broke my heart. I wanted to take her home with me.

Poor thing. No idea how to look after it no doubt and nobody telling him otherwise because they're afraid of getting an earful or a smack.
I have to say not all chavs mistreat their dogs, though- when I was waiting at the bus station last week I saw a lad in full chav uniform, down to his popped collar and trackies tucked in his socks. He had an adorable English Bull Terrier and she was sleek, healthy and content, had eyes only for him and was doing little tricks for him for dog treats. He clearly loved his dog! It fair cheered me up.

So you did what to help that pup, apart from come on MN and make us all feel bloody hopeless and useless?

I wasn't bad mouthing all chavs, just this particular one who was mistreating his dog.

So why didn't you stand up for the poor defenceless puppy who doesn't have a voice? I would have been tempted to say "Oi mate come here a sec" then when he came over punch him and say "Why are you in my face". Foolish probably but I can't abide cowardly tw**s

Thanks for upsetting us all. This is going to haunt me all day. You need to go to the police or local paper or something, buses have CCTV. This is something to make a major fuss over! If not at the time, then now. Say he was pinching her or something to get police to take it seriously. If you don't act you are enabling animal abuse. What happens behind closed doors? These things need to be stopped at the time. I've got off buses before with my kids trailing behind me to confront dog kickers, doing nothing is never an option

you dont need to say he pinched her! you saw him kicking her and shoving her. i agree with others. how did you sit and watch that and do/say nothing? were there other people on the bus watching aswell? was he onhis own or with friends?

IM agree - doing nothing isn't an option - it can be scary, but you should have said something. Doing nothing is colluding in the abuse.

Please please please report this. Contact the bus company right now and ask them to hold the CCTV as you will be making a police complaint.

Apart from your duty to the poor pup, how old was the boy? There is a MASSIVE correlation between domestic violence and animal cruelty. This boy has learnt cruelty from someone; if you report this you may be helping him and his mum.
