hi there,any one here voluntered for puppy walking for guide dogs for the blind?

i was thinking of voluntering to do this, and wondered if there was anyone on here to talk to about it.

Hi Carrie, try PMing Wags-she's currently puppy walking for GDFTB. From what she says you get lots of support, but think you have to put in a LOT of time training and going to sessions.

Hi we have applied to puppy walk, just waiting to hear when our home check is.
Went to the Guide dogs centre yesterday to watch the puppy classes and met a few puppy walkers, they all say it's hard work but worth it, the dogs are lovely and we chatted with a blind lady who was telling us how having a guide dog changed her life

Our neighbours across the road are doing this for our local guide dog society. I think it is a wonderfully rewarding thing to do but emotionally very difficult too. My neighbour hadn't appreciated just how much she would get attached to the dog over 18 months and is dreading having to give him up. Worth considering.
