Taking a dog on holiday.

Has anyone does this? I'm sure at least a few Mumsnetters have.

We'd like to take our dog with us,for a short UK break,haven't decided where yet. We'll be looking for a dog friendly hotel.

I'd appreciate hearing about others's experiences of taking their dog on holiday,and would appreciate any tips and advice.

We always take our spaniel when we can. And I leave him alone in the caravan? Not sure what is wrong with that? It is only like being left at home isn't it? We also leave him in hotel rooms when we have gone out to eat. I was surprised to find that Hilton hotels have dog friendly rooms.

Oh and we've just booked here for June
